Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. Red sky in morning, sailor’s warning.

This picture of cloud bellies gone red-orange at sunset has been flipped upside down and, in my opinion, looks all the better for it.

The ruddy orange hue of the bellies of the clouds visible over the sea one recent evening was so striking that I had to snap a few photos. Then, I turned one of those images upside down and thought it looked even nicer. And now here it is on this site. In retrospect, I might’ve snagged an even more lovely photo if it had occurred to me to expend a bit of additional effort and attempt to capture this sort of visual au naturel, reflected on the surface of some still water.
